This was one of my first product design projects during my undergraduate studies. The objective was to propose a design solution that addresses the morphological and distribution problems of traditional hair dryers. Aesthetically, the design was inspired by Darth Vader and the characteristics of the perceptual niche.
Using the Design Thinking methodology, we focused on the user's needs, identified the ergonomic and physical strain issues with current hair dryers, and applied thermodynamic principles for a fully functional design. While the design could benefit from further iterations, this project laid the foundation for my understanding that products should adapt to users, not the other way around—a core principle in my work mindset. This project was developed during my Design I class at Tecnológico de Costa Rica.
