Sura: smart gadget

This is a smart gadget that seeks to remind young users of the consumption of medications and supplements through sensory stimuli.

Research has identified that the primary reasons for drug use among younger generations include improving physical appearance, social media influence, academic demands, and health issues. The most common reasons for missing a dose is forgetting, with over 40% of adults under 35 reporting missed doses.

What makes Sura different from a regular alarm is its direct relationship between the alarm mechanism and the medicine intake, where Sura encourages the accomplisment of the task.

Using a mobile app, the user can schedule reminders for their medications. The gadget connects to the app via NFC technology. Each medication logged into the app needs an NFC sticker. At the scheduled time, Sura will emit a sound and the LED lights will turn on. To turn off the alarm, the user needs to bring their medication close to the gadget.

Our hypothesis was that, by reducing the distance between the user and their medications, and by connecting the drugs to the alarm system, the chance of the medication's intake increases.
